Nainiya Butkauwa bridge, Bardagoriya RM, Kailali, Sudur Paschim. The bridge has been constructed with pile foundations due to the low bearing capacity of the soil in the Terai. After the construction of this trail bridge, 5 hours of detour time has been saved for the local communities.

The Society of Engineers for Rural Development, Nepal (SERDeN) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit professional organization established under the Associations Registration Act, 2034 (1977). It was founded to safeguard the professional rights and interests of engineers contributing in Nepal.
SERDeN brings together engineers from government, development projects, academia, NGOs, consultancies, construction enterprises, and the private sector—fostering collaboration in policy, technology, training, and research to support inclusive national transformation.

About Our President

SERDeN (Society of Engineers for Rural Development, Nepal) was established in the pursuit of strengthening progressive national cooperation, enhancing exchange of information on research and developments in engineering, geosciences, and other geo-related fields, and committing to the welfare of Nepal and the human society. It was formally registered with the Government of Nepal (then ‘Royal Nepalese Government’) in May 1994 (BS: Jestha 2051) by a group of dynamic and internationally motivated engineers and academia of Nepal.
